Musk Tweet Hints About Automated Snake-like Tesla Charge Cord

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is using Twitter for the second time in a week to hint about upcoming Tesla developments.

In a tweet this morning, Musk said that the company was creating an automatic charge cord that “moves out from the wall and connects like a solid metal snake.”

One minute later, he added that the new cord will be compatible with both current and future models of the Model S.

Comments to his post joked mostly about automated robots taking over the planet, though a number of tweets asked for more specifics. No other details on the price or an availability date have been released by Musk or Tesla Motors as of yet, however.

Musk also didn’t clarify if the automated cord will be installed at Superchargers, Tesla’s charging stations, or if they will be available for home use.
