2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sahara Unlimited with 4BT Swap

Posted on by 0 comment

The Jeep Wrangler is arguably one of the most revered off-road vehicles of our time and the TJ is perhaps the most adored (and missed) of all Jeep generations. With that said, nothing grabs our attention like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a clean 4BT swap!

We are glad to see an NV4500 was used for the swap as it’s the “go to” but it’s the history of this transmission that is even more interesting. The Muncie division of General Motors merged with the New Process division of Chrysler and their first project was the NV4500 which was launched in 1993.

The 4BT swap appears to be cleanly done with some nice performance upgrades included along the way. The “Light Khaki” paint is a great color and the long-arm suspension with 37″ tires give this Rubicon a great stance. We think the price is a little steep, but with that said, a Rubicon with 82,000 miles would easily fetch $20k. Is this 4BT swap worth an additional $15k?

2008 Ford F650 “Bro” Custom

This F650 was custom built by Blue Diamond Truck Company LLC, a joint venture with Ford Motor Company which was dissolved in 2016. Power is provided by a customized 6-Cylinder Caterpillar Acert engine mated to an Allison transmission. The suspension is a Haldex air ride system with a self-leveling cab feature and Rancho shocks absorbers. Front and rear differentials are Dana Spicer RD404s. Although a vehicle this large isn’t our cup of tea, one can’t help but stop and stare at a pickup truck on tires that are 46″ tall and weight close to 250lbs each.

If you’re bro enough, find it here on eBay:
