1991 Land Rover Defender 90

Posted on by 0 comment

Yesterday, we featured a nicely refinished ’92 Defender 90 with a price tag of nearly $80k, but we admit that this Defender 90 is a better buy. Although far from perfect cosmetically, this Defender shows some patina and that’s fine with us. The body appears solid, with some minor exceptions. We would prefer a more period-correct wheel but otherwise this is a very obtainable example for the average working man who is looking to buy a Defender and enjoy one of the most legendary SUVs every produced.

Ahh yes, another beautiful Defender 90. We simply can’t get enough of these trucks. This example had a recent interior refurbishment and wears extremely clean paint. We love the contrast of black wheels with the seal gray paint however we must deduct points for the non-matching spare. The engine bay looks flawless as this Defender 90 just ticked passed 101k miles. What a beauty!

1989 Land Rover Defender Perentie Ambulance

For the enthusiast that thinks they have everything. How about a former Australian Defense Force Land Cruiser? This 6×6 monster has a massive amount of cargo space to haul all your gear or a small army. At the time of production, Land Rover did not have a motor powerful enough for a vehicle this large, so an Isuzu 4BD1-T diesel was mated to a Land Rover LT95A heavy duty 4-speed transmission. We love the excess that this vehicle exudes!

1991 Land Rover Defender 110

Are you looking for a real Land Rover? Then the Defender is the one. Its the working mans Rover. Sadly the line was discontinued as of 2016, but there are still plenty around and certainly there are excellent used models floating around. This example is a 1991 hardtop with the full wagon at only 84k miles. According to the ad, it was rebuilt from the ground up in 2017 (and it certainly looks like it). Its got the 200Tdi motor in it with a 5-speed transmission. The interior is MINT. The price is not bad at all for what this vehicle is. Also, its in New York, US, which is a bonus.

1993 Land Rover Defender 90

The Defender 90’s are near and dear in the hearts of diesel enthusiasts. This nicely kept ’93 2-door appears to be in great shape, even with over 157k miles. We’d bet it’s been repainted at some point, however the interior is well kept and extremely clean. We’d swap out the diamond plate floor mats for something more subtle and lose the plating on the hood. The 2.5l 200Tdi can provide many more reliable and efficient miles if maintained.
